Backyard Fest  is a boutique festival in Castlemaine which brings together good music and good people for a weekend of fun, camaraderie and ease. It was held on November 11th-12th 2022.

After overcoming a range of issues facing the event industry at large right now, the promoters put on an awesome event at the arts precinct Lot 19 on Dja Dja Wurrung Country for a weekend full of music, arts and community.

There was a range of music from hip hop to folk music, and a great crowd of locals and others who travelled from Melbourne for it. The campground was a km away and there was shuttle buses taking punters back and forth every 20 minutes.

Starting off in backyards a few years ago, BYF brought in bands and DJs for a house party worth remembering. Wanting to bring the good times to more friends and new faces, the little backyard festival is coming to life now.
