An independent art space Kitty started in 2010, which held monthly exhibitions for both professional and early career local artists. Styles were varied, including illustration, photography, fine art, street and stencil art, and even some taxidermy. There was the occasional skate deck show and book launch as well.
Filling a gap in the gallery market at that time, For Walls became known as the artist’s gallery, with the lowest commission in town and often incorporating music events in the main room of Miss Libertine after the openings, providing a platform for both art and music to be displayed in synergy.
The facebook following is around 7,000 and still growing, years after the gallery has closed.
